The Dragonbone Chair

The Dragonbone Chair
Tad Williams
1988

The first chapter of the Dragonbone Chair does not enlighten much about the ending of the book. The first chapter just describes hoe life is going for the main character named Simon. It describes where he lives, who he is, and what his life is like.  Simon is a young boy who lives in the castle of Hayholt.  He is a servant and serves the High King John.  He lives with Rachel the head of cleaning in the castle. His parents are both described having died from different ways, making him an orphan.
So, overall, the first chapter does not give in onto what the book will end up as.  The main part of defining and finding what the first chapter gives is up to the reader. As the reader, Williams leaves it up to us to figure out what the first chapter gives in about the rest of the book.  What we can figure from the first chapter is that the book will continue to be a long detailed book. The middle of the book will probably be long and painfully detailed because of the tone that Williams sets up in the beginning.
However the end of the book I am predicting will slowly climb to a giant climax and then end will be abl to reveal all about what the book was. All this I get from the first chapter of the book
